ABOUT Sweat & Tone

Sweat & Tone is a boutique yoga + pilates studio founded by Monica Sacco.

Created for those who want something beyond a traditional yoga or Pilates class. Our signature method blends mindful movement, Pilates-inspired toning, and strength training to help you sculpt, sweat, and reconnect with your body.

Rooted in a calm, coastal energy, Sweat & Tone is a space to feel strong, supported, and grounded. Every class is designed to challenge you with intention, build confidence from within, and leave you feeling sculpted by the shore.

About Our Founder
Monica Sacco

Monica began her fitness journey at 17 when she discovered Spinning classes at her local gym, which eventually led her to yoga at Suffolk County Community College. After taking a Yoga 101 class, she was instantly hooked — not just by the physical postures, but by the spiritual connection and the stillness yoga brought to her mind during practice. Around age 22, she began teaching cycle classes, where she fell in love with the creativity of music — how a beat drop or slow climb could transport people and elevate their experience.

After graduating from NYIT with a BA in Communication Arts, Monica initially planned a career in event planning and public relations. When the 2010 market crash shifted those plans, she took a leap of faith and moved to Washington, DC for an events fellowship. Afterward, she worked in sales in downtown Bethesda, Maryland, where she eventually walked into CorePower Yoga — a moment that changed everything. She enrolled in Power Yoga Teacher Training the very next day and quickly found her passion for combining movement, music, intention, and voice to inspire others. While in the DC area, Monica helped open several CorePower locations, including studios in Falls Church, Glover Park, and Clarendon, while teaching regularly in Georgetown and Bethesda. She became a full-time instructor and teacher trainer, earning certifications in Power Yoga, Yoga Sculpt (50-hour), and Hot Power Fusion, and participating in advanced instructor bootcamp training. Monica’s education continues to evolve. She is a 500-hour certified yoga teacher, NASM-certified personal trainer, reformer Pilates trained, spiritual coach, and Reiki Levels 1 & 2 certified. She continues to deepen her studies with respected leaders in the field, including Baron Baptiste.

Back on Long Island, Monica has hosted yoga events at breweries and wineries, as well as two women’s yoga retreats on Fire Island. Her passion now extends beyond teaching classes — she is dedicated to mentoring teachers, helping them develop empowering sequencing, confident presence, motivating music integration, and the ability to guide students through movement with authenticity and purpose.
